These Terms govern your use of the Island Life mobile app (the "App"), operated by Island Life ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Island Life is a visitor and local guide to Jersey, Channel Islands. It provides maps, listings, events, trails, tide and weather information, an AI-assisted tour guide, and trip-planning tools. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time.
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This licence is the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula, as supplemented by these Terms.
Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account within the App.
You may submit content such as reviews, events, and business information ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it within the App.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, sexually explicit, spam, fraudulent, or otherwise objectionable, and you must not impersonate others or infringe anyone's rights.
We may remove any User Content and suspend or terminate any account, at our discretion and without notice, for breaching these rules.
You can report objectionable reviews and events from within the App using the report option on each item, and you can block other users so you no longer see their content. We review reports and act on content that breaches these Terms, typically within 24 hours. You can also contact us directly at the address below.
The App offers optional paid subscriptions and event passes through Apple In-App Purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings. Prices are shown in the App before purchase. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; refund requests are handled by Apple.
You must not misuse the App, including by attempting to disrupt or reverse engineer it, accessing it by automated means, or using it to break any law.
The App provides information for general guidance only. Listings, opening hours, events, routes, tide times, and weather are provided "as is" and may be inaccurate or out of date. Jersey has one of the world's largest tidal ranges. Always check official tide times before visiting coastal areas, and do not rely solely on the App for safety-critical decisions. You use the App and visit any location at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your reliance on information in the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jersey, Channel Islands, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Jersey courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
