This Privacy Policy explains how Island Life ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Island Life mobile app (the "App"), a visitor and local guide to Jersey, Channel Islands.
By using the App you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We use your information to provide and operate the App, personalise recommendations, power the AR Tour guide, process and display content you submit, moderate user-generated content, manage subscriptions, send notifications you opt into, and improve the App.
The AR Tour and AI guide features send camera images, audio, and text to Google's Gemini API for processing. Trip-planning and chat features also use Gemini. This processing is necessary to generate the guide's responses. We do not send your name or account identifiers as part of these requests.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the App:

Your data is stored on our service providers' infrastructure and protected in transit by encryption (HTTPS). We take reasonable measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account (or Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data; reviews you have written are anonymised so they remain useful to other visitors without identifying you.
The App is operated from Jersey, Channel Islands, and we handle personal data in line with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to data portability. The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notified in the App.
